A facial oil and blemish treatment in one. The Clarifying Facial Oil (formerly Clarifying Serum) helps the skin repair itself, brings balance back into the skin and aids the skin in decongesting pores and dissolving impurities. Gentle enough for everyday use.
Julia’s Insight + Advice:
I remember the first time I learned about the healing properties of the oil extracted from the Tamanu nuts, I was fascinated. I was in awe watching a video of indegenious folx of the South Pacific packing a family member’s wound with Tamanu nuts to encourage healing. And sure enough, after a few days, the wound was on it’s way to healing. I knew that when I did create a facial oil especially for those of us who manage breakout or acne, Tamanu would be one must-have ingredients in my formulation.
Tamanu oil and other parts of the tamanu nut tree have been used medicinally for hundreds of years by certain Asian, African, and Pacific Island cultures. A 2015 study looked at tamanu oil from five different parts of the South Pacific. This study found that the oil exhibited not only high anti-inflammatory properties but also high antibacterial and wound-healing activity against bacterial strains involved in acne, including Propionibacterium acnes(P. acnes) and Propionibacterium granulosum(P. granulosum).
